Scarborough is located 7 miles South of Portland Maine with a population just under 20,000 people. The community boasts several Maine beaches including Higgins Beach, Pine Point and Prouts Neck which was the subject for artist Winslow Homer.
The settlement of Scarborough was one of the earliest made on the New England coast and was incorporated in 1658.
