Falmouth is a small oceanfront community of approximately 11,000 located just north of Portland, Maine. From coastline to the more rural areas inland, Falmouth is more than twice as long as broad, and its greatest length is from south-east to north west.”Falmouth, Maine was first settled in the 1600’s and was named for an ancient seaport in England. It originally extended from Spurwink River to North Yarmouth, and 8 miles back into the country, embracing a territory of about 80 square miles. It thus included the present towns of Falmouth, Cape Elizabeth, Westbrook, Deering and Portland.”
