We worked with Rachel on the purchase of a house in the Sebago Lake area of Maine. Rachel was extremely helpful, responsive and professional throughout the process. She willingly helped us negotiate certain issues with the seller that went beyond the four corners of the P&S agreement and agency agreement, like purchasing some of the seller’s personal property.
She helped us and worked directly and actively with the other people involved in the closing, including our lender and title company to make sure everyone was doing what they needed to do to prepare for the closing. Whenever we had questions about the house she called the seller, stopped by the town hall, researched issues online and did whatever she could to find answers for us.
She listened and offered comfort and advice whenever we expressed concerns(whether rational or not!) about the home buying process. Rachel was extremely responsive and hands on from day one through the closing. Many times we emailed her at random times with assorted questions and in a matter of minutes she responded with answers( often after contacting the seller, sender or others for us). In fact, the one time we didn’t hear back from her for a few hours( only because she was tied up with ans inspection), we actually got a little worried and wondered if she was okay since we had grown accustomed to hearing from her immediately!
We were always very impressed with the way Rachel dealt with us and other people involed in the closing. On the one hand, she was patient and polite, even soft spoken in letting us evaluate situations and make decisions that were best for us. We never felt like she was pressuring us to make an offer or accept something that made us uncomfortable. On the other hand, she was not at all shy about making persistent agressive demands of the seller and contacting our lender, title company and others to get answers and move things along. That delicate balance – easy to work with, yet tough and tenacious when called for – was very helpful and comforting throughout the process. We feel very fortunate to be working with Rachel and would wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone working on a real estate transaction in Maine.
